Graduated from the University of Malta Medical School in 2003 and underwent 7 years specialist and subspecialist training in Scotland (UK NHS), becoming accredited from the Royal College of Radiologists of London (FRCR). Appointed Consultant Radiologist in 2012 at Mater Dei Hospital, and in 2023 became a founding partner of LifeScan.mt clinic in Naxxar, Malta.
I am an experienced general radiologist with a special interest in Paediatric Radiology. I am qualified in both adult and paediatric ultrasound, including musculoskeletal (muscle, tendon, soft tissues & joints), breast ultrasound and mammography. I report MRI, CT & x-ray examinations as well as perform imaging-guided biopsies such as thyroid, breast & lymph nodes. I speak fluent Maltese, English and Italian.
Having returned to Malta in 2013, I was responsible for coordinating a dedicated Paediatric Imaging service at Mater Dei Hospital. I introduced several new procedures such as the use of MRI for small bowel studies, foetal MRI and the use of air insufflation for intussusception reduction. I perform multiple weekly neonatal and paediatric ultrasound lists, report subspecialist foetal, paediatric and adult MRI and together with my colleagues report the general MRI and CT workload at our National Hospital.
